Yogi Adithyanath Biography

Yogi Adityanath is the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. He has been working in the office since March 2017. He is the star campaigner for BJP in 2017 elections. He was elected as a member of parliament five times consecutively from Gorakhpur constituency Uttar Pradesh since 1998. His convoy was attacked in 2008 when he was traveling to Azamgarh as a part of an anti-terrorism rally in which 1 person was dead and at least 6 people were injured. He has been the head priest of Gorak Nath math a Hindu temple since the demise of his spiritual father mahant adityanath. He found a youth organization known as Hindu Yuva Vahini which is allegedly involved in communal violence.

Early life: he was born in a Kshatriya family in 5th June 1972 in the village of Panchur in Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh state. His given name was Ajay Mohan Bischt. He was the second eldest kid of his family which comprised of five sons and 3 daughters. He did his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand. He left his family to join the Ayodhya Ram temple movement. He eventually became the disciple of mahant Aditya Nath He was named Yogi Aditya Nath by his master mahant avaidyanath.

Politics:  scholar Christopher jafferlot said that yogi adtyanath follows specific Hindutva politics that started by Digvijay Nath and his successor mahant avaidyanath (master of yogi Aditya Nath). They were members of Hindu Maha sabha party and they were elected as a member of parliament from this party. After the Ayodhya movement mahant, avaidyanath joined BJP but maintained his autonomy. After the death of his master yogi adityanath assumed his master’s place in both politics and devotion. He became the head priest and carried on his master’s duties as well as he contested in 1998 elections from Gorakhpur and won.

Yogi Aditya Nath as mp: Yogi Aditya Nath has won five times consecutively as the member of parliament from Gorakhpur constituency. He attended 77 percent of the meetings and participated effectively in the debates. In 2010 he was one of the mp’s in bjp to oppose the women reservation bill.

Yogi Aditya Nath and BJP: the relations between BJP and yogi Aditya Nath are a bit complicated. He held a considerable amount of power in the party in Uttar Pradesh. He was confident because he had Hindu Yuva Vahini and Gorakhpur math with him. People say that he took over the eastern Uttar Pradesh. Whenever his voice was not heard by the party he used to field candidates against BJP. One of the famous fields were fielding of Radha ram Mohan das on Hindu Maha Sabha ticket in Gorakhpur constituency who won against the cabinet minister Shiv Pratap Shukla by a wide margin. He threatened to field 70 candidates against BJP but finally made peace with BJP. One can say that he had an autonomous grip over BJP in Uttar Pradesh. In 2017 he was BJP’s star campaigner and led BJP victorious by a wide margin.

Yogi Aditya Nath as the chief minister: in 2017 yogi adityanth became the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was responsible for many reforms in various fields. He banned gutkha and tobacco in all the government offices. He made the officer’s promise to devote themselves for over a hundred hours a year for the swatch Bharat movement. The illegal slaughterhouses were shut down by his government. Under his government, more than 100 police officers were suspended by the Uttar Pradesh police.

Yogi Aditya Nath statements: yogi adyanath at Azamgarh in 2014 during the discussion of inter-religious marriages and religion conversions reportedly said that if they take 1 Hindu woman we take 100 Muslim women. In 2014 during the opposition of women reservation bill, he said that if a man were to develop feminine traits he would become a god if a women were she would become a demon.

He is famously termed as the monk who became the chief minister.
